Food Bank Service Project - January 2014

A food distribution site is the main objective of the Southwest Virginia Food Bank where they deliver to organizations that deal with food insecurities like RAM House and Rescue Mission. The Food Bank assists in feeding approximately 125,000 people a day. This area is the largest region of food delivery with up to 22 million pounds delivered each year. There are a half million people with food insecurities in the 26 counties they serve in our area. The Food Bank operates with 37 paid employees and 1,800 volunteers annually.
