Operation Christmas Child Service Project - November 2016

On November 17, 2016, Operation Christmas Child was in full swing at Salem Baptist Church. We loaded hundreds of gift-filled shoeboxes into larger cardboard boxes. Those boxes were, in turn, placed in a trailer to be sent to children in need around the world as a Christmas gift. For more information on Operation Christmas Child, visit them by clicking  here !

West End Center Service Project - October 2016

On October 18, 2016, we had the privilege of volunteering at the West End Center, which provides the developmental and educational tools necessary to become responsible adults to more than 200 children every year. Visit their website by clicking here !

Speaker - March 10, 2016

At our March meeting, Mr. Jim Soderberg spoke to us about presuppositional apologetics. He said that our presuppositions ask three questions: What is the nature of reality?  How do we know what is true? How do we live life? From there he spoke on the presuppositional approach.

Speaker - February 16th, 2016

On February 16th, 2016, Mr. Keith Farmer spoke to us about the founding of his ministry, Straight Street. He spoke on the many difficulties in its start and ministry, while showing God's plan through it all. He challenged us to have faith in God as He works through our lives.

West End Center Service Project - February 2016

On February, 4th, 2016, we volunteered at the West End Center, which provides educational help to 200 children yearly, equipping them with the assets necessary to become responsible adults. As volunteers, we had the privilege to assist in this wonderful goal.

On January 14th, Mr. Dwayne Westermann spoke to the Honor Society about his ministry, Godparents for Tanzania, which works with sponsors to provide college-level education to the underprivileged in Tanzania. His goal is to bring hope and to glorify God through the education of the poor.

Feeding America Food Bank Service Project - January 2016

On January 7th, we volunteered at the local food bank for Feeding America Southwest Virginia. Feeding America strives to accomplish its mission of feeding the 1 in 7 hungry people in America, giving hope to over 46 million people. We volunteered to help see this accomplished.
